In Mandya’s Nagamangala Badarikoppali, a Ganapati Visarjana procession was disrupted when a group of youth pelted stones near the Dargah on Mysore Road. This led to a confrontation between Hindu and Muslim youths, escalating into a significant riot. Some individuals involved displayed long knives and swords, attacking passing vehicles. The police promptly intervened, arresting the suspects and seizing the weapons used in the violence.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi criticized the state government in response to the incident. He claimed that if the riot had resulted in casualties, it would have been treated as a major issue by the Home Minister. Joshi expressed his lack of faith in the state government and accused it of being lenient towards those involved in such riots, referencing past incidents in Old Hubli, KJ Halli, and DJ Halli where similar patterns of leniency were observed.

Joshi also criticized Rahul Gandhi and the Congress government, alleging that their actions have emboldened extremist forces. He condemned the state government for fostering an environment of distrust and division, suggesting that their approach only strengthens radical elements.
