A farmer, who was undergoing treatment after being bitten by wasps, died at the hospital. The deceased is Rajesh Shetty (44) of Hosangadi village of Belthangady taluk in Dakshina Kannada. Police said Shetty was cutting tree branches at his agricultural land when the incident took place. All of a sudden, a swarm of wasps attacked Shetty, and stung him on his head, body and hands. He was rushed to a private hospital here. However, he died after failing to respond to treatment.Venoor police have registered an unnatural death report under Section 194 of BNSS.
