Gadchiroli

In flood-hit Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, police and health workers teamed up to save a pregnant woman’s life. Heavy rains had caused widespread flooding in Bhamragarh tehsil, cutting off roads and creating severe challenges. On September 8, Mantoshi Gajendra Chaudhary went into labor and needed urgent medical care. Despite the flooding, medical staff managed to transport her to the hospital, where she successfully gave birth the next day.

However, she lost a lot of blood and urgently needed a second unit of B-negative blood. With no blood available locally, the police arranged for a helicopter to airlift the blood from another hospital. Thanks to this swift action, Mantoshi’s life was saved, and both mother and baby are stable.
