Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai has raised concerns about the internal power struggles among Congress leaders in Karnataka. Speaking in Shirahatti, Bommai criticized the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, noting the competition among Congress members for the Chief Minister position. Bommai expressed his frustration, stating, ‘It pains me to see his condition. Despite Siddaramaiah still holding the chief minister’s chair, many are competing for the role, indicating a lack of confidence in leadership.’

Bommai suggested that the Chief Minister should first organize his cabinet to improve governance. He criticized the current ministers for focusing more on politics than on development. According to Bommai, pressing issues in the state, such as heavy rainfall affecting farmers, problems for students, unfilled job vacancies, issues with examinations, unpaid anganwadi workers, and malnutrition among children, are being ignored. He claimed that the ministers are not addressing these challenges, and the situation reflects not just a contest for the Chief Minister’s role but a genuine struggle within the party.
