The International Chess Federation (FIDE) announced a new partnership with Tech Mahindra for the 45th Chess Olympiad, which will be held in Budapest from September 10 to 23 on Tuesday. This year’s Olympiad is set to be one of the largest ever, featuring a record 196 teams in the Open Section and 184 teams in the Women’s Section.
Tech Mahindra will serve as the General Sponsor for the event, continuing their significant role in transforming the game of chess through innovative initiatives. FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that Tech Mahindra’s support has been crucial in advancing chess, including their contributions to next-generation digital experiences and the launch of the Global Chess League. We are excited to extend our partnership with Tech Mahindra to the 45th Chess Olympiad. Their contributions have been vital in the growth of chess, and together, we look forward to elevating the game even further, Dvorkovich stated.
Peeyush Dubey, Chief Marketing Officer of Tech Mahindra, highlighted the success of the 44th Olympiad and expressed delight in continuing the collaboration for the Budapest event. He emphasized that technological advancements are key to expanding chess globally and wished success to all participating teams.
Additionally, the second season of the Global Chess League will take place in London from October 3 to 12, 2024, featuring six strong franchises.
