The BJP has set a target to enrol 3.5 to 4 lakh members in Dakshina Kannada district during its ongoing membership drive.
Dakshina Kannada BJP Unit President Satish Kumpala told media persons that over 2.5 lakh citizens joined the party in 2019, and now they aim to increase that number by 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh. Citizens aged 18 and above are eligible to join, he said.
Meanwhile, former BJP Pesident Nalin Kumar Kateel launched the membership drive. Further, Kumpala said that a drive will be rolled out in all 57 Mahashakthi Kendras of the district. From September 11 to 17, a mega membership drive will coincide with PM Modi’s birthday celebrations. The party aims to enrol 250 members from each booth, with manual registration options available in rural areas with limited internet access. A district-level workshop will be held later to scrutinise the memberships.
