England all-rounder Moeen Ali has expressed his excitement about joining the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. The franchise acquired Moeen at his base price of ₹2 crore during the recently concluded IPL mega-auction.
In a video shared on KKR’s official X handle, Moeen thanked the team management for their trust and shared his enthusiasm for the new journey. “Hi guys, really excited to be joining KKR. The family, the team, the environment—it’s an amazing place to play, I know. A big thank you to Bravo and all the staff for showing faith in me. Hopefully, I can perform when given a chance. Lastly, Ami KKR,” he said.
Moeen’s performance in IPL 2024 saw him play eight matches, taking two wickets with an economy rate of 8.88 and an average of 35.50. With the bat, he scored 128 runs at a strike rate of 130.61. Over his IPL career, Moeen has featured in 67 matches, claiming 35 wickets with an economy rate of 7.07. His batting stats include 1,162 runs at a strike rate of 141.53.
KKR fans are hopeful that Moeen’s experience and all-round skills will add value to the team in the 2025 season as he gears up to make his mark.
