A state-level meeting of officials will be held in Bengaluru on September 11 to plan Pilikulotsava, also known as Tulunadotsava, scheduled for November at Pilikula Nisargadhama. The meeting will be chaired by Speaker UT Khader. Pilikulotsava will be celebrated from November 14 to 18 and will align with Pilikula Kambala, the traditional buffalo race, to promote regional tourism.
It was announced that a detailed plan for the festival is being prepared for approval during the meeting. There is an effort to make Pilikula a lively space, and facilities will be fully utilized. The involvement of multiple government departments, such as Kannada and culture, youth empowerment, sports, science, technology, agriculture, and forestry, is expected to be coordinated for the event.Suggestions were made to organize events like a science fair and a children’s festival at Pilikula. The need for the government’s support to appoint members to the Pilikula Development Authority was also emphasized. Concerns were raised about the poor condition of several buildings and the maintenance issues at Pilikula Biological Park. It was suggested that steps be taken to improve the conditions of the zoo to attract more visitors. The park’s infrastructure, including toilets, was also noted for needing repairs. Earlier, the Muhurtha for Pilikula Kambala Kare was conducted, marking preparations for the event.
