Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that the BJP plans to escalate its protests against the state government with a new padayatra, targeting alleged corruption in the Valmiki Tribal Welfare Board and Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) cases. Joshi stated that the party’s campaign against these corruption allegations would persist, emphasizing that the upcoming round of protests will be organized under the leadership of state leaders.
Joshi clarified that the party’s actions should not be classified as distinct padayatras, as their fight against corruption is progressing effectively. He addressed questions about Congress’s silence on corruption claims involving Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, pointing out that the allegations date back to 2005-06 and questioning why Congress did not act during its tenure from 2013 to 2018 or during the coalition government with Kumaraswamy.
He also criticized Congress for raising allegations against BJP leaders Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and Murugesha Nirani, questioning the timing and suggesting that these moves may be politically motivated. Joshi emphasized that the BJP’s stance remains firm in addressing what it views as political maneuvering by the opposition.
