Dharwad
Arvind Bellad, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition and MLA for Hubli-Dharwad West, has apologized to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The apology followed Bellad’s use of inappropriate language during a press conference in Bengaluru. The press conference was held to criticize the government’s decision to allocate land to Jindal Company.
In his apology letter, Bellad admitted to using inappropriate words and questioned whether the land was being given to Jindal at a low price because of personal connections with Siddaramaiah’s family. He acknowledged that his comments were wrong and expressed sincere regret.
The Chief Minister responded positively to the apology. He commended Bellad for his gesture and noted that admitting mistakes is an important part of leadership. Siddaramaiah also stated that he holds no resentment towards Bellad and welcomed the apology as a sign of value-based politics. He expressed confidence that Bellad will uphold the legacy of his father, Chandrakant Bellad, who is a good friend.
