Belagavi
Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil stated that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has no involvement in the MUDA case, and that the BJP’s false allegations will lead to their regret. Speaking at Congress Bhawan, Patil emphasized that Siddaramaiah remains in his position and there is no current vacancy for Chief Minister. He expressed confidence that Siddaramaiah will be acquitted in the MUDA case and will continue to serve as Chief Minister for a full five-year term.
Patil also addressed concerns about land allocated to the Kharge family, asserting that BJP leaders are misinformed about the process. He explained that Kharge’s son, a computer science engineer, was awarded a site based on merit, following a review of six applications. He noted that the site allocations were decided in 1991 and the BJP government made similar allotments in 2021.
Patil further discussed a case involving land taken by Narayanaswamy in 2006, stating that no work was done and legal changes were made. Narayanaswamy has constructed a shed and requested a complete sale deed.
Patil criticized Vijayendra’s influence, claiming that during Yediyurappa’s tenure, Lingayats were divided and attacked, accusing the RSS of following a divisive policy. Patil concluded that all Congress MLAs and Ministers support Siddaramaiah, and the party stands united behind him.
Will send proposal to Centre for Industrial Corridor between Belagavi, Hubli
Belagavi
Industries Minister MB Patil announced plans to propose to the central government the development of the national highway stretch between Belagavi and Hubli as an industrial corridor. Patil noted that this proposal aligns well with the existing Hubli-Mumbai industrial corridor.
Regarding the delayed land acquisition for the Belagavi-Dharwad railway line, Patil explained that the process has been stalled due to farmers requesting a change in the route alignment. He clarified that once the route is approved, the railway authorities do not accept changes. Patil mentioned that he reviewed the situation recently and plans to discuss possible solutions with local MLAs and officials to address the farmers’ concerns without compromising technical requirements.
Patil also highlighted that if the Belagavi-Dharwad railway project proceeds, it would reduce travel time between Belagavi and Bengaluru by five hours. Additionally, he mentioned ongoing efforts to establish a Foundry Park near Belagavi, with sites being inspected on Khanapur Road and other locations.
