Rahul Kharge, the son of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, has allocated 5 acres of land in Aerospace Park to Siddhartha Vihara Trust. Chhalavadi Narayanaswamy Satya Harishchandra, the opposition leader in the Vidhan Parishad, had previously received 2 acres of land in Hebbal, Mysore in 2006. This land remains largely unused, with only a shed constructed for carpentry. Minister MB Patil criticized Narayanaswamy for failing to utilize the land effectively, stating that rules should not be ignored for political favor.
Patil addressed the issue at a press conference, highlighting that Kharge has twice passed the UPSC examination and has been recognized for his achievements. He questioned why the BJP would bypass rules and favor Narayanaswamy, who now has another six months to use the land properly. If he fails, the government will reclaim the land.
Narayanaswamy, a Dalit, has been accused of making baseless claims against Kharge’s family. Patil claimed Narayanaswamy’s delays and inadequate use of land for a garment factory and other projects have led to a government order to reclaim the land, which was upheld despite legal objections.
Patil also noted that other applicants for land plots had their requests denied, and criticized Narayanaswamy for not using his land effectively. He further pointed out issues with land allocations to other individuals, urging accountability and proper use of resources.
