Christ Junior College, Bengaluru, on Thursday, August 29, 2024 proudly unveiled the 17th edition of Model United Nations, a national conference with an illustrious inaugural ceremony that set the stage for a promising year of international diplomacy and student engagement with more than 350 participants from institutions across South India. The theme for this year’s conference was “लोकाः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु – “May everyone in the whole world be happy”. The event started off with a euphonious invocation song performed by the CJC choir, which beautifully set the tone for the proceedings. The ceremony continued with the dignitaries lighting the ceremonial lamp. Mr. Arulappa. A, Coordinator, CJC MUN 2024, welcomed the gathering with an engaging address that highlighted the significance of the MUN program. This was followed by an inspiring address by Rev. Dr. Fr. Sebastian Mathai, Principal, Christ Junior College, who emphasized the importance of student involvement in global discussions and encouraged participants to embrace the challenge of diplomacy. The chief guest, Mr. Hemant Nimbalkar, IPS, Commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Karnataka, delivered a thought-provoking keynote address. The chief guest eloquently highlighted the profound significance of the United Nations’ genesis, emphasizing its role in fostering global cooperation and peace. He inspired the students with a powerful message, urging them to channel continuous, dedicated focus into all their endeavors. His words served as a compelling reminder of the importance of perseverance and commitment in achieving success.
