In connection with the recent stone-throwing incident at the residence of MLC Ivan D’Souza, the south police station has registered an FIR and formed a special investigation team led by the ACP Central. The team reviewed CCTV footage, checked vehicle details, and collected eyewitness accounts to identify the suspects.
Two individuals, Bharat alias Yakshith (24) and Dinesh Kurthamogeru (20), have been arrested. Bharat, a driver from Narayan Kodi House, Bolantoor village, Bantwal taluk, has three prior assault cases. Dinesh, from Parthipadi House, Kolnadu village, Bantwal taluk, works in finance collection and has one previous assault case.
The accused admitted to the crime during interrogation, stating that their anger over statements made by Ivan D’Souza motivated them. They confessed to throwing stones at D’Souza’s house after dining at Frish Crown Hotel around 9:30 PM.
Further investigations, including checks of their movements through CCTV footage and mobile records, have confirmed their involvement. The investigation is ongoing, and legal action is being taken against the suspects, according to police sources.
