Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, has demanded the dismissal of Priyank Kharge from the cabinet and the return of land allocated to the Siddhartha Vihara Education Trust. Narayanaswamy claimed that the family of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge acquired five acres of land from KIADB for the Trust.
Narayanaswamy accused Priyank Kharge of misusing his ministerial power to secure this land. He argued that while industrial land is accessible to many, certain laws restrict land allocation for specific purposes such as social activities, theaters, or hospitals. He suggested that the land allocation to a single family, bypassing other applications, raises suspicion.
The Siddhartha Vihara Trust, registered in Kalaburgi, was intended for religious purposes but received land designated for aerospace. Narayanaswamy criticized this allocation, stating that the land could have been better utilized for multiple SC institutions or Dalit families.
He asserted that such practices contradict promises of fairness and equal opportunity. A complaint will be filed with the Governor regarding this issue.
