Mysuru
Mysuru is soon going to witness Gandhi Bhavan to its landmarks. The construction of Gandhi Bhavan, located next to the new Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Bannur Road, is 70 percent complete and is expected to open in the next three months.
Gandhi Bhavan will showcase Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts, philosophy, ideals, and contributions to India’s freedom struggle. It will highlight Gandhi’s simple lifestyle, his principles of satyagraha, and his support for small industries, as well as his concern for children, women, Dalits, and backward communities.
The front yard will feature Gandhi’s artworks, freedom struggle photographs, and a Gara Murti figure from the Delhi Parliament. A district-level committee, led by the Deputy Commissioner and including the Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat, Superintendent of Police, and District Information Officer, will oversee its operations. Gandhi Bhavan aims to be a center for Gandhi enthusiasts, students, and the public.
