The land at Aerospace Park, designated for a research and training center, was allotted to the Siddhartha Vihara Education Trust, led by Rahul Kharge, son of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, at a fixed price as per legal requirements. Minister MB Patil has stated that no rules were broken in this transaction, countering allegations from BJP leader Lehar Singh.
Minister Patil explained that Rahul Kharge, an IIT graduate with a background in educational activities, was given CA land for the development of a research and development (R&D) center. He clarified that CA land is allocated for various uses, including R&D centers, technical institutes, and other facilities, according to KIADB norms. The land distribution follows recommendations from the State Level Ekwakshi Committee, and no discounts were applied to the land provided to Rahul Kharge.
Patil criticized the previous BJP government for allocating 116 acres to Chanakya University at a significantly reduced price of Rs 50 crore, which he claimed resulted in a loss to the exchequer. He challenged Lehar Singh to address this issue as well.
Patil highlighted that under his tenure, a transparent system for allotting CA plots has been implemented. The state-level Single Vigilance Committee now oversees these allocations. Additionally, a 24.10 percent reservation for Scheduled Castes has been introduced in the allotment of CA plots. Patil advised Lehar Singh to acknowledge these improvements.
