Chief Minister Siddaramaiah warned the BJP that his removal from power is unlikely as long as he has public support. Siddaramaiah spoke after the inauguration of the Sangolli Rayanna statue at Kaujalagi. Rayanna, a key figure in Rani Channamma’s court, was known for his bravery against the British. Despite his defeat in the second war, Rayanna’s guerrilla tactics caused significant trouble for the British. Siddaramaiah pointed out that it was locals who eventually handed Rayanna over to the British.
The Chief Minister accused the BJP of attempting to undermine him. He stated that the BJP’s longstanding view is that people from backward communities should not hold positions of power. Siddaramaiah criticized this stance and claimed that the BJP’s efforts to remove him are part of a conspiracy that will fail as long as he has the support of the people.
The event was attended by Ministers Lakshmi Hebbalkar and Satish Jarakiholi, MLA Balachandra Jarakiholi, and Chief Whip Ashok Pattan. The ceremony was held in the presence of Shivlinga Murugarajendra Swami of Bagojikoppa Mutt.
