In connection with the rape case of a young woman in Karkala, the blood samples of the victim and the accused have been tested for drug consumption. The victim’s report is positive and the accused Altaf and Savera Richard’s report is negative, District Superintendent of Police Dr K Arun said.
Accused Altaf was taken into custody and interrogated after the young woman’s blood sample was positive for drugs. At this time, he showed a powder in his car and told that this is what the girl had taken, he said.
The drug found in the young woman’s blood has been sent to the laboratory to compare it with the same drug shown by the accused. A separate case has been registered in the Karkala town police station regarding the drug.
An investigation is underway as to where the drug was brought from and where it came from. It will be traced as soon as possible.
The aggrieved young woman is pending to give a statement before the judge, after she recovers, she will be produced before the judiciary. Through this, the investigation of this rape case will be concluded as soon as possible, Dr K Arun said.
