The Certificate Program in Information Technology, a collaborative effort by the LTI Mindtree Foundation, IIIT Dharwad, and Edunet Foundation, has achieved a major milestone. Launched in January 2023, this program aimed to provide crucial IT skills to young individuals who had left formal education after Class X, helping them enter technology-focused careers.
Over the past 18 months, the program has effectively equipped students with practical IT skills through hands-on projects and real-world technology applications. Many participants, who started with minimal computer knowledge, specialized in either IT Enabled Services or Full Stack Web Development. The curriculum emphasized experiential learning, including industry-relevant capstone projects, which were presented to local employers, bridging the gap between training and job opportunities.
The program included three months of on-the-job training, offering valuable professional insights. The initiative concluded with a convocation ceremony on July 30, 2024, celebrating the accomplishments of the students and their families. Notably, over 70% of trainees secured jobs in various industries, and participants saw an average 30% increase in family income, highlighting the program’s positive impact on the community.
