Police have apprehended 25 individuals involved in illegal usury and arrested them for operating a money lending business with exorbitant interest rates. Police Commissioner Shasikumar announced on Thursday that seven cases have been filed across four police stations, including those in Hubli and Dharwad, following public complaints.
The cases were registered at Dharwad Suburban Station 2, City Station 2, Vidyanagar Station 2, and Hubli Bendigeri Station 1. Authorities have confiscated 10 two-wheelers, 10 mobile phones, sharp weapons, and various documents related to the illegal interest trade from the arrested individuals.
Shasikumar urged anyone involved in or aware of exorbitant interest schemes to file a complaint at their nearest police station, providing relevant documents to support their claims.
