Nepal will host the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 in Kathmandu from April 12 to 21, 2025. The winner will advance to the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup 2026.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced that besides Nepal, teams from Afghanistan, Oman, Hong Kong, Singapore, and UAE will compete. Oman and Hong Kong qualified by being Division 2 finalists.
Nepal previously competed in the 2024 ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa, making it to the Super Six stage after a dramatic one-wicket victory over Afghanistan.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia, featuring 16 teams, with five qualifying through regional events. Australia, the defending champions after their win over India in February 2024, will compete alongside Zimbabwe and other automatically qualified teams, including Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the West Indies.
This will be the 16th edition of the tournament, which began in 1988 and is now held biennially. India has won five titles, Australia four, Pakistan two, and Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies each once.
