The third season of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20) is set to begin on January 11, with defending champions MI Emirates facing the runners-up Dubai Capitals in the opening match, organizers announced on Wednesday.
The tournament will feature a total of 34 matches, with 15 games scheduled at the Dubai International Stadium, 11 at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium, and 8 at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The competition will conclude with the final on February 9 at the Dubai International Stadium.
The six participating teams include MI Emirates, Dubai Capitals, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Gulf Giants, and Sharjah Warriorz. Top T20 talents like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), David Warner, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Roy, and Lockie Ferguson are among the star players set to feature in the tournament.
ILT20 CEO David White expressed excitement for the upcoming season, stating, “We are set for a bigger and better edition of the DP World International League T20, with world-class T20 stars and UAE’s finest talent providing great entertainment for cricket fans.”
