Three people, including a woman, died in a tragic accident on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway near Sangbasvanadoddi in Ramanagara taluk on Tuesday night.
The victims have been identified as Liyaqat Ali Khan (55), a businessman from Shivajinagar, Bengaluru, his wife Asma Parveen (45), and their friend Noor Ullah Shareef (50).
Liyaqat and his wife were on their way to visit their daughter in Mysuru, traveling in a car driven by their friend, Noor. At around 9:30 PM near Sangbasvanadoddi, Noor lost control of the vehicle, which mounted the road divider and overturned. The car collided head-on with an oncoming KSRTC Ashwamedha bus traveling towards Bengaluru.
The impact of the crash was so severe that all three occupants of the car died at the scene. Upon being informed, local authorities rushed to the spot, and the bodies were transferred to the Ramanagara District Hospital. The wrecked vehicles were cleared to restore traffic flow. The police reported that the car was completely destroyed, and the front of the bus was also damaged in the collision.
