Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar has instructed all Cabinet members to visit flood-affected areas immediately and engage in relief efforts.
In a statement made in Bengaluru on Sunday, Shivakumar noted that Karnataka is experiencing heavy rains, causing most reservoirs to reach full capacity. The release of floodwaters from these reservoirs has led to swollen rivers and significant damage to property, crops, and livestock. He emphasized that it is crucial for officials to support affected communities during this difficult time.
Given the severe flooding and damage caused by the recent rains, Shivakumar has called on his Cabinet colleagues to visit their constituencies and other impacted regions to address the needs of the people. He acknowledged the benefits of the rainfall but also highlighted the challenges it has brought to certain areas.
Shivakumar reiterated that as elected representatives, it is their responsibility to assist and stand with the people of Karnataka during this period of crisis.
