The water level in the Krishna River near the Kallol bridge in Chikodi taluk has risen to 1,97,350 cusecs. This includes 1,60,750 cusecs from the Rajapur barrage and 36,600 cusecs from the Doodhganga River. The increased water flow has heightened flood risks for riverside villages, prompting the district administration to begin emergency relocation of people from vulnerable areas.

Rivers such as Krishna, Doodhganga, Vedaganga, Ghataprabha, Malaprabha, and Hiranyakeshi are overflowing, disrupting normal life and threatening many villages. Villages in Chikodi, Nippani, Kagwad, Raibag, Athani, and Kudachi taluks are facing flood threats. Some areas have lost connectivity, and residents are moving to safer locations. Saptasagara village has been cut off, and families are being relocated as a precaution.

Water has surrounded riverine villages, including Khavatakopp, Hulagabali, Shegunasi, and Mangavasati. Residents of Mangavasati in Athani taluk have been moved to safer areas by the district administration. The Kudachi barrage is completely submerged, and vehicular traffic has stopped. The Athani-Gokak link bridge has been closed due to rising water levels.

The outflow from the Hidkal reservoir has been increased to 30,000 cusecs, and a flood warning has been issued for lower-level villages along the Ghataprabha shore. Residents have been advised to move to safer places. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan confirmed that measures are being taken to relocate those affected by heavy rains and rising river inflows.
