Legends League Cricket kicks off with exciting matchups

The Legends League Cricket is set to begin with a thrilling opening match on September 20 at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur. The defending champions, Manipal Tigers led by Harbhajan Singh, will face off against the Konark Suryas Odisha, formerly known as Bhilwara Kings, captained by Irfan Pathan.

The tournament will feature 25 matches played across six teams, culminating in a grand final on October 16. Over 200 players will compete in this franchise-based league, which will be hosted across four cities: Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu, and Srinagar. This season marks the return of cricket to Srinagar after 40 years.

Ravi Shastri, the League Commissioner, expressed his enthusiasm for the new season, saying, ‘Legends League Cricket has always delivered top-notch competition and fair play. As the commissioner, I’m committed to maintaining this high standard and am excited for what’s to come.’

The schedule includes six matches at Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur, six matches at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat starting September 27, and six matches at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu from October 3. The tournament will conclude with seven matches, including the finals, at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar from October 9 to 16.

This season will feature Indian cricket legends Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Kedar Jadhav making their debut alongside other iconic players.
