Belagavi
The Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, visited the group headquarters at Jadhav Nagar. This visit was notable as it was the first in nearly two decades. He was accompanied by Air Commodore SB Arunkumar, Deputy Director General of the NCC Karnataka and Goa Directorate, and Col Mohan Naik, NCC Group Commander, Belagavi.
During his visit, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh inspected the guard of honor, reviewed training activities, and addressed the cadets and staff. He praised the group’s performance and commitment. The importance of discipline, leadership, and teamwork was emphasized, with encouragement for cadets to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.
Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh also highlighted the NCC’s role in shaping youth, fostering patriotism, unity, and social cohesion. The visit ended with the presentation of awards to recognize the outstanding achievements of cadets and staff. Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh expressed his admiration for the enthusiasm and dedication of the Belagavi group headquarters. Col S Dixit noted that the visit had inspired the team to work harder and aim for higher goals.
