In a letter, the airline apologized for the inconvenience, noting the precautionary landing at Krasnoyarsk International Airport in Russia was for passenger safety. Air India emphasized their efforts to get passengers to San Francisco as quickly as possible, including dispatching a relief flight. The original flight, AI-183 from New Delhi, was diverted due to technical issues but eventually landed safely in San Francisco as AI-1179. The airline also provided third-party support at Krasnoyarsk.
