The death toll from rainstorms and flooding in Nangarhar province, eastern Afghanistan, has increased to 40 on Tuesday, with 347 people injured, according to the Ministry of Public Health. Health workers have been sent to assist the injured, and the number of casualties may rise. The disaster struck on Monday, causing significant damage in Jalalabad and nearby areas. Additionally, five people died in flash floods in Kunar province. Since May, heavy rains and flooding have claimed over 400 lives and left thousands homeless in Afghanistan.
