Jasper Philipsen secured his maiden victory in Stage 10 of the Tour de France after a fiercely contested sprint. Despite a challenging start to the Tour with no wins so far, Philipsen, backed by his Alpecin-Deceuninck team and led out by world champion Mathieu van der Poel, executed a flawless performance in Saint-Amand-Montrond. The 26-year-old Belgian sprinter crossed the finish line ahead of Biniam Girmay from Eritrea and Pascal Ackermann from Germany, clinching victory with a bike length to spare.
Former Tour de France winner, Mark Cavendish, faced disappointment as he struggled to compete in the technical finale of the stage, reminiscent of one he conquered in 2013. The British rider from Astana-Qazaqstan finished down the field, missing out on his quest for a record-extending 36th Tour victory. Another contender, Dutch Stage 6 winner Dylan Groenewegen, finished in seventh place.
Despite the scenic but uneventful 187km route through the Loire and Cher regions, the general classification remained unchanged. Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates continued to lead with a 33-second advantage over Remco Evenepoel from Soudal Quick-Step, setting the stage for a challenging 11th stage through the mountainous Massif Central.
