Koppal University Vice-Chancellor Prof BK Ravi highlighted the global advancement of Indian media, emphasizing its rapid growth in the field. He delivered the concluding address at a two-day national symposium on ‘Challenges and Opportunities of Mass Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence’ held at Suvarna Mahotsava Hall, in collaboration with the Karnataka University Department of Journalism and the Karnataka State Journalism and Communication Faculty Association.
Prof Ravi underscored that journalism is an ideal career path for students proficient in language and critical thinking, noting its significant role in society. He emphasized the leading position of the Indian media and entertainment sector globally, recognizing the increasing individual recognition of journalism in recent decades.
Karnatak University’s Finance Officer Prof. C Krishnamurthy commented on the high demand for journalism and urged students to seize opportunities by mastering modern technology through hard work.
KPCC member Robert Daddapuri encouraged transforming challenges into opportunities for success in journalism, stressing its pivotal societal role and the importance of accurate information dissemination. He emphasized the need for journalists today to uphold social responsibilities.
Prof. AM Kadakol, Chancellor-in-Charge of Karnataka University, who presided over the program, highlighted the significance of national conferences in shaping the future of current students, urging them to cultivate professionalism through continuous learning.
During the two-day national conference and media festival, journalism students from various universities across the state participated in a range of competitions.
