The Sri Lankan cabinet has approved a new national action plan spanning 2024 to 2028 aimed at eradicating sexual and gender-based harassment, announced the government information department on Wednesday. President Ranil Wickremesinghe, also serving as the Minister of Women, Children Affairs, and Social Empowerment, introduced the proposal, as reported by source. The department mentioned the importance of policy engagement to uphold the rights of women, men, and children to live free from violence in a just and inclusive society.
