A five-vehicle crash on the Isewangan Expressway in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture left six people injured on Saturday morning, including an eight-year-old girl. The accident occurred around 8:30 am local time in Yatomi City, according to officials.
The crash involved five passenger cars, and emergency services quickly transported the injured to nearby hospitals. One of the victims, a man, sustained serious injuries. The other injured individuals, whose conditions were not specified, are receiving treatment.
Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. The crash marks the second significant traffic incident in Japan in recent months. In August 2024, a multi-vehicle collision in a tunnel on the Tottori Expressway resulted in five injuries, with three people in critical condition.
Authorities are focusing on preventing such accidents and improving road safety measures as investigations continue.
