Bengaluru police have registered an FIR against Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune pub and several other establishments on MG Road for operating beyond the permitted closing time of 1 am. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, about 3-4 pubs were found open until 1:30 am, prompting action due to complaints about loud music.
The crackdown followed late-night noise complaints, with One8 Commune near the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium among those cited. The investigation remains ongoing, with further actions pending based on findings.
One8 Commune, which also operates in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon, and Kolkata, launched its Bengaluru branch in December last year, located on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex.
A case has been filed against the manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru for exceeding the 1 am deadline, as confirmed by a sub-inspector during a night patrol at 1:20 am. The FIR notes the establishment was serving customers beyond the stipulated time, leading to legal action.
In addition to One8 Commune, three other pubs faced police action for similar violations, underscoring the authorities’ adherence to city regulations on operating hours and noise levels.
Virat Kohli, co-owner of One8 Commune, has close ties to Bengaluru, notably playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
