Leopard Killing Case, State Govt Ordered An Investigation

The state government has taken the case of killing of a leopard in the presence of forest guards in Kamadalu village of Devadurga taluk seriously and has ordered an investigation. In this case, despite the leopard causing trouble to the villagers, failed to be captured and the killing of the leopard was prevented. Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of negligence by the forest staff.

A leopard spotted in the hills of Kamdala village in Devadurga taluk of the district. The villagers had informed the forest department about the leopard sighting. But the villagers alleged that they were negligent in capturing the leopard. A leopard attacked three farmers who were working on the farm and seriously injured them. Because of this, thousands of people from the surrounding villages of Kamdala climbed the hill to catch the leopard.

When the leopard was seen in the hill, the villagers got angry and attacked the leopard at the same time with stone hammers. The villagers attacked and killed the leopard in front of the forest guards and police and then threw it into the ambulance. The video of the incident went viral and the animal lovers expressed outrage.
