JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday, claiming that the CM’s own actions led to the involvement of his wife in the MUDA case. Kumaraswamy challenged Siddaramaiah to a debate on the Congress government’s achievements and developmental activities, accusing him of deflecting blame onto the opposition.
‘Time and again, you accuse us of dragging your wife into the MUDA case. She was respectfully at home until your wrongdoings brought her into the spotlight,’ Kumaraswamy stated. He questioned Siddaramaiah’s commitment to the AHINDA community, pointing to issues like the Valmiki Corporation scam.
Kumaraswamy referred to Siddaramaiah’s emotional appeals regarding his wife’s situation and suggested that the public would decide the fate of his governance. Siddaramaiah, who is under investigation by the Lokayukta and ED for alleged irregularities involving site allotments to his wife, previously stated that the opposition was targeting him for being from a backward community.
Kumaraswamy claimed the Congress government is mired in scams and does not address the public’s concerns. He challenged Siddaramaiah to compare the current government’s record with that of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government he led in 2018-19. Kumaraswamy also highlighted ongoing issues with rain-related damages across the state, criticizing the government’s failure to resolve these problems.
