Senior Journalist Ravi Hegde emphasized the importance of embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency rather than debating its acceptance. He spoke at the National Conference on Challenges and Opportunities in Media in the AI Era, organized by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Karnatak University. According to Hegde, AI is the future of media and will bring revolutionary changes to communication. He noted that refusing to adopt AI would result in falling behind in a competitive world.

Hegde highlighted AI’s capability to perform multiple tasks and suggested utilizing its services for societal improvement. However, he pointed out that AI currently faces limitations, particularly in providing accurate information in languages other than English.

The inaugural session was presided over by Karnataka University Vice-Chancellor, KB Gudasi. Also in attendance were Koppal University Vice-Chancellor BK Ravi, Bengaluru North University Vice-Chancellor Niranjan Vanalli, and Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism JM Chandunavar.
