Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed a gathering of Deputy Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers, and in-charge secretaries at Vidhana Soudha on Monday. He emphasized that public servants, including politicians and officers, must prioritize serving the people rather than assuming authoritative roles.
Siddaramaiah urged proactive coordination among Deputy Commissioners, Police Superintendents, and Chief Executive Officers to ensure effective implementation of government programs. He specifically highlighted the urgency of tackling dengue across the state, instructing regular meetings and prompt action at the taluk level.
The Chief Minister also warned of accountability measures for senior officials, extending consequences for negligence and dereliction of duty. He stressed the need for improved government efficiency, drawing on historical comparisons and emphasizing Karnataka’s reputation for good governance.
Siddaramaiah underlined the responsibility of district officers to be well-informed about their districts, including human development indexes. He concluded by urging sustained efforts to maintain Karnataka’s model status in governance.
