An incident occurred on Tuesday morning near Daddal Kadu near Bijay Kapikad in the city. At around 3:30 AM, the house of Karishma on Kotekani 1st Cross under Urva Police Station was robbed. Victor Mendonsa (71) and Patricia Mendonsa (60), an elderly couple, were the only ones at home. Their two children are abroad.
The bedroom window was broken, and the house was robbed. The elderly couple was attacked and injured by the robbers. AJ is undergoing treatment at the hospital. It is known that four people were involved in the robbery. The robbers showed a deadly weapon to the family and committed the crime. The house car key was taken, and the robbers left for Udupi in the same car. The miscreants fled after stopping the car near the Hejamadi toll gate.
Urva Police, senior officers, and fingerprint experts have investigated the scene. The car was traced by Mulki police and taken into custody. The police are searching CCTV cameras around the robbed house, road, and highway after the incident.
