G Parameshwara Leads K’taka Police Readiness For New Criminal Laws

Home Minister G Parameshwara of Karnataka has confirmed that the state’s police force is fully prepared to enforce three new criminal laws that came into effect nationwide on Monday. Addressing the media, Parameshwara highlighted that starting July 1, cases will be registered under these new laws, with comprehensive training provided to all ranks from constables to senior officers.
Highlighting the technological support extended to enhance law enforcement capabilities, Parameshwara announced the introduction of a dedicated app designed to assist officers in correctly applying the new legislation until they achieve proficiency.
This is a critical phase, He stated, acknowledging the significance of implementing laws that have been modernized from their British-era origins. He stressed the importance of the app provided to Karnataka police, facilitating effective enforcement of the revised legal framework.
Addressing administrative concerns, the Home Minister assured that guidelines for inter-district transfers within the police force are forthcoming, aimed at accommodating personnel’s personal and health-related considerations.
Responding to political queries regarding alleged government instability, Parameshwara reiterated his government’s commitment to governance and dismissed claims of internal discord.
Regarding ongoing investigations into the Tribal Welfare Board case, He affirmed that stringent actions will be taken against any individuals found guilty, regardless of their position.
He highlighted that the state is entering a new phase of law enforcement, navigating through legal complexities with careful consideration and preparedness.
