Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday to explore ways to utilize the state’s mineral resources more effectively.
We had an extensive discussion on how to tap into Assam’s abundant mineral resources and ensure their sustainable utilization for growth, Reddy stated.
The two ministers have agreed to establish a high-level committee to further these initial discussions aimed at extracting minerals in Assam, as mentioned in a post by Reddy.
The Hon’ble Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shri G Kishan Reddy, met with Sarma today to address various issues, stated the Chief Minister’s Office on X. The meeting took place at Sarma’s residence in Guwahati.
Sarma also acknowledged Reddy’s recent appointment and expressed gratitude for his impactful tenure as the Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister in the previous BJP government at the Centre, the statement added.
