Actor Fardeen Khan reminisced as his film ‘Dev’ completed 20 years since its release. The film, directed by Govind Nihalani, featured Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. On Tuesday, Fardeen shared a clip from the film along with a gratitude note.
The note read, “20 Years of Dev. It was my third film with Kareena Kapoor Khan, and she recommended me for the role. I will always be grateful to her for that. Being signed by Govind Nihalani for a film with Amitabh Bachchan and Om Puri was a significant endorsement for any actor. Govindji was known for his careful direction and storytelling.”
Fardeen described his experience working with Amitabh Bachchan. “This role gave me the chance to work on a meaningful film, which was rare at the time. The greatest takeaway from ‘Dev’ was sharing the screen with Amitji, an actor I idolize. His career has had a profound influence on Indian cinema and has left a mark on every Indian. It was an honor to work with him, making it a highlight of my career,” Fardeen added. Fardeen and Kareena also worked together in ‘Fida’ and ‘Khushi’.
