CH News

In a comparison between the recent Lok Sabha and past Vidhan Sabha elections in Devanahalli Vidhan Sabha constituency, Congress showed a notable increase of 11,371 votes. KH Muniyappa celebrated victory securing 73,058 votes in the Vidhan Sabha elections, while Congress garnered 84,429 votes for Raksha Ramaiah in the Lok Sabha elections.

Despite Nisarga Narayanaswamy of JDS obtaining 68,427 votes and Pilla Munishamappa of BJP securing 34,404 votes in the Vidhan Sabha elections, totaling 1,02,231 votes, this target wasn’t met in the Lok Sabha elections.

District in-charge minister K. H. Muniyappa’s strategic efforts to boost votes for Raksha Ramaiah in the Lok Sabha elections resulted in only a modest increase of 11,371 votes in Devanahalli. Despite the presence of three Congress MLAs in Bengaluru rural district, voter support for Raksha Ramaiah didn’t reach anticipated levels.

Congress leaders, banking on the five guarantees of the Congress government, faced a reversal in fortunes. The promise of Griha Lakshmi funds in women’s bank accounts during elections failed to translate into votes.

In Devanahalli, the home constituency of Food Minister KH Muniyappa, JDS-BJP alliance candidate Dr. K. Sudhakar led by 5,231 votes, defying political expectations. Despite Congress MLAs in Nelamangala, the BJP party surprisingly led by 33,255 votes.

Congress also faced challenges in Hoskote, where MLA Sarath Bachegowda’s victory margin against MTB Nagaraj reduced from 5,075 votes in the Vidhan Sabha election to 2,885 votes in the Lok Sabha election.

I will be more occupied with party organization in the upcoming days, stated KH Muniappa, Food Minister.
