In a preparatory meeting convened on Saturday at the office of the Chief Commissioner of the Corporation Headquarters, District Election Officer and Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath urged officials to undertake necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of polling stations during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections’ vote counting process.
The event, focused on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections’ vote counting procedures slated for June 4, witnessed Nath echoing the importance of adhering to the Election Commission’s guidelines. He highlighted the installation of CCTV cameras and videography as essential measures near the designated counting centers across the city.
Furthermore, He highlighted the significance of well-equipped media centers proximate to the counting stations. He directed officials to ensure the provision of basic amenities, including drinking water and restroom facilities, for media representatives attending the event.
Additionally, the meeting underscored the meticulous training imparted to the vote counting staff and the deployment of police personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of the process. Mr. Nath also stressed the proper handling of postal ballots during the counting phase.
In another development, officials have been briefed regarding the preparations for the polling in the Bangalore Graduate Constituency scheduled for May 3.
The strong room centers for the three Lok Sabha constituencies in Bangalore have been finalized as follows:
1. Bengaluru Centre: Mount Carmel College, Palace Road, Vasantnagar, Bengaluru.
2. Bengaluru North: St. Joseph’s College, Mallya Road, Bangalore.
3. Bengaluru South: SSMRV College, 9th Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore.
