Former Deputy Chief Minister Govinda Karajol has demanded the immediate resignation of Minister Nagendra to allow an impartial investigation into the Valmiki Development Corporation scam. At a press conference at the BJP state office on Wednesday, Karajol stated that a comprehensive and impartial investigation cannot be conducted by state government agencies. He called for central government agencies to investigate instead.

Karajol highlighted a suicide note by Chandrasekhar, which mentioned transferring money based on verbal orders from ministers. Karajol questioned why the Minister’s name was not included in the FIR, suggesting this omission raised doubts. He questioned the ability of the CID, a subordinate body of the government, to impartially investigate Chief Ministers and Ministers, and called for the ministers to resign.

Karajol raised concerns about how funds were transferred from a joint account, which should include both the Managing Director and Accounts Officer. He noted that no review meeting on expenditure was held at the end of the financial year on March 31, implying government involvement in a cover-up to avoid responsibility.

Karajol insisted that information from the deceased’s pen drive and laptop should be made public. He accused the government of misusing Rs 24,000 crores allocated for SCs and STs for other purposes, demanding the Chief Minister take responsibility and return the misused funds to the department.
