Have presented transparent administration in MCC: Mayor

Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, whose term ended on Wednesday, expressed pride in serving as a trustee of a temple and providing transparent administration in the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC). During a felicitation ceremony by the MCC council, he highlighted the implementation of development works totaling Rs 183 crore during his tenure.

Shetty noted that he maintained a corruption-free administration and received cooperation from all 60 corporators, regardless of their political affiliations. He shared that he was available to hear public grievances every working day from 3 PM to 8 PM, emphasizing his commitment to helping the poor.

The mayor announced that major projects, including the development of Ambedkar Circle, are set to move forward, thanks to support from corporators, MLAs, and officials. Union Bank has agreed to provide Rs 75 lakh in CSR funds for this project.

On the occasion, development works worth Rs 138 crore were inaugurated, and new projects estimated at Rs 58 crore were launched in the presence of MLAs D Vedavyas Kamath, Y Bharath Shetty, Deputy Mayor Sunitha, and opposition leader Praveen Chandra Alva.

MLA Kamath praised Shetty for his efforts in preventing revenue loss and ensuring effective fund utilization for city development. MLA Bharath Shetty acknowledged the mayor’s ability to build consensus among corporators. Alva commended Shetty’s extensive administrative knowledge stemming from his rural background.
