Worry about monkey disease continues in Uttara Kannada district. The number of infected has already crossed the 100 mark. Siddapur taluk has the highest number of infected people and 9 people have died so far. 

The first case was detected in Korlakai area of ​​Siddapur last December. Now the disease has spread in different parts of the district. A total of 108 cases have been detected in the district. 100 cases were reported in Siddapur, 5 in Shirsi, 2 in Zoida and 1 in Ankola.

Blood samples of 2,242 suspects with fever, stomach ache and diarrhea have been tested. A total of 108 positive cases have been detected after the report. 10 beds have been arranged in all taluk hospitals. The health department held a meeting regarding KFD in the month of January. A lot of awareness has been created by visiting house to house. District Health Officer Dr. Neeraj has informed that in the villages where monkey disease has appeared, we have admitted and given treatment in taluk hospitals.

Vaccine is being discussed at the government level, and if it rains further, the case may decrease. A total of 55 monkeys died, of which eight were found positive post-mortem. DHO Dr. Neeraj said that the health department has taken action to control the monkey disease.
