The excitement for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is building rapidly. Starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, this sci-fi drama also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film promises to be a grand spectacle.
As the release date approaches next month, the North American distribution rights have been acquired by Prathyangira Cinemas and AA Creations, according to sources. The distributors reportedly paid Rs 50 crore on a refundable advance basis, which is a significant deal for an Indian movie. Prathyangira Cinemas previously distributed Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ and will employ a similar strategy for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
Nag Ashwin explained the film’s title, saying, ‘Kalki’ is the final avatar of Vishnu. Despite being set in the future, the film has a connection to the past that will be revealed. He also highlighted the effort put into the film’s action and weaponry. He said the weapons were built from scratch instead of using generic props. We also enhanced them with VFX, ensuring they look much better in the film than in the teaser, he added.
After several delays, Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit theaters on June 27 and will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil.
