Mirzapur

Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, asserted during an election rally in Mirzapur that the situation for economically disadvantaged individuals from upper castes, particularly Brahmins, is dire under the BJP administration in Uttar Pradesh. She accused the BJP of escalating atrocities against minorities under the guise of Hindutva ideology, stating that such incidents have reached alarming levels in the state.

Critiquing the BJP’s policies, Mayawati highlighted the adverse impact on the country’s economy, citing rising poverty, unemployment, inflation, and persistent corruption. She expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA would not retain power at the Centre due to their divisive and capitalist policies, provided fair elections are held without tampering with voting machines.

Mayawati urged voters not to support either the BJP or the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections, advocating instead for the BSP, which promises welfare for all under the principle of Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhay (welfare for all). She emphasized the importance of fulfilling the vision of BSP founder Kanshi Ram by empowering marginalized communities.

Regarding the government’s free ration scheme, Mayawati reminded the audience that the provision comes from taxpayers’ money, not the BJP or RSS. The Mirzapur constituency will go to polls in phase seven on June 1.
